Farewell
Sadly, Ken is no longer physically with us. He left us on 22 December 2024
His Dearest Family and close friends celebrated that would have been Ken Mantel’s Birthday 20 August 2026.
The text below is a tribute to Ken read out on that day.
Draga porodico Mantel, dragi prijatelji i gosti,
Dear Mantel family, dear friends and guests,
Danas, na dan kada bismo proslavljali rođendan našeg dragog i nikada zaboravljenog Kena Mantela, okupljeni smo pre svega u znaku zahvalnosti, sećanja i dubokog poštovanja.
Today, on the day we would be celebrating the birthday of our dear and never forgotten Ken Mantel, we gather first and foremost in the spirit of gratitude, remembrance, and deep respect.
Iako Ken fizički nije sa nama, njegovo plemenito srce, njegova dela i trag koji je ostavio u Srbiji žive i živeće kroz generacije koje dolaze.
Although Ken is no longer physically with us, his noble heart, his deeds, and the mark he left in Serbia live on, and will continue to live through the generations to come.
Želimo da uputimo najdublje reči zahvalnosti i poštovanja njegovoj supruzi Tiji, koja je bila i ostala njegov najveći oslonac, kao i njihovoj deci: Saši, Tanji i Miši.
We wish to express our deepest words of gratitude and respect to his wife, Tija, who was and remains his greatest support, as well as to their children: Saša, Tanja, and Miša.
aša velika zahvalnost leti i do njihovih supružnika - Kenovih snaha Brajan i Kali, i zeta Nila, koji su postali deo ove divne porodice i koji zajedno sa njima dele ove plemenite vrednosti.
Our immense gratitude also goes to their spouses - Ken's daughters-in-law, Brian and Cali, and his son-in-law, Neil, who became part of this wonderful family and who share these noble values alongside them.
Hvala i njihovoj deci - Kenovim unucima, što svi zajedno čuvate sećanje na Kena i što kao jedna velika porodica nosite istu onu svetlost, dobrotu i empatiju koju je on nesebično delio sa svetom.
Thank you also to their children-Ken's grandchildren for keeping Ken's memory alive together, and for carrying, as one big family, the very same light, kindness, and empathy that he so selflessly shared with the world.
Svi vi zajedno ste ponosni naslednici čoveka čije se ime u našim krajevima izgovara sa dubokim poštovanjem.
Together, you are the proud heirs of a man whose name is spoken in our region with profound reverence.
Vaša vizija i osnivanje Fondacije omogućili su da dobrota dobije svoj formalni oblik.
Your vision and the establishment of the Foundation allowed kindness to take a meaningful, organized form.
Zahvaljujući toj fondaciji, Ken i Tija su pružili ruku solidarnosti i poslali ogromne, dragocene donacije tamo
gde je to bilo najpotrebnije - našoj Ljuboviji, Bajinoj Bašti i Kraljevu.
Thanks to this foundation, Ken and Tija were able to extend a hand of solidarity and send massive, invaluable
donations to where they were needed most- to our Ljubovija, Bajina Bašta, and Kraljevo.
Pomoć koju ste poslali iz Londona nije bila samo materijalna.
The help you sent from London was not merely material.
Za Ljuboviju, Bajinu Baštu i Kraljevo, te donacije su bile znak da nismo sami, da negde daleko postoje ljudi velikog srca koji misle na nas.
For Ljubovija, Bajina Bašta, and Kraljevo, those donations were a sign that we were not alone, and that
somewhere far away, there are people with great hearts who care about us.
Spasili ste živote, obnovili nadu i izgradili mostove prijateljstva između Londona i Srbije koje vreme nikada
neće srušiti.
You saved lives, restored hope, and built bridges of friendship between London and Serbia that time will never destroy.
Kenu neka je večna slava i hvala za svako dobro delo, a njegovoj divnoj porodici i prijateljima Franklinovim želimo dobro zdravlje, mir i svaku sreću.
May Ken rest in eternal peace, and we thank him for every good deed. To his wonderful family and to our friends, the Franklins, we wish good health, peace, and every happiness.
Vaša dobrota je upisana u istoriju naših gradova i u naša srca.
Your kindness is forever written in the history of our towns and in our hearts.
